This is a question we get often and the answer is not too difficult. The root email on AWS is the same as your account email. You can find your root email on your account’s profile page.
Root user in AWS is the user with unrestricted access to all resources. It has full control over all AWS resources and can do anything on these resources. It is a superuser and can create or delete any resource on the account, for example, create a new instance, modify an existing instance, change the security group of an instance, etc.
To login as root on AWS, you first need to create a new user. You can do this by going to the IAM console and clicking on “Users” in the left-hand navigation pane. Click “Create New Users”, and fill out the form that pops up. Make sure you enter a strong password for the user.
The most common way to find your root email account is to log in to your email account and go to the “Options” section. From there, you should be able to see all of the accounts that are associated with your email address.
To change your root account, you need to first create a new IAM user with administrator privileges. You can then switch the root account to that new user. This way, you don’t have to go through the hassle of changing all of your passwords for all of your AWS resources.
