If you delete your account, any messages you have sent or received will be deleted. Your friends will not be notified that you have deleted your account.

When you permanently deactivate Kik, all the messages you’ve sent and received will be deleted.

Kik takes up to 24 hours to deactivate an account. This is due to the fact that Kik uses a process called “self-destructing messages” which deletes all messages on the device after 24 hours.

Kik is a proprietary chat app that only allows you to access messages for as long as your account is active. You can export your messages to an archive by going to Settings > Chat Settings > Export Chat Archive.
